OUR EXECUTIVE PASTOR

Pastor Edward Pickett Jr. was born and raised in Oakland, CA. and graduated from Oakland High school in 1983.  Through strict spiritual guidance from his parents he accepted the Lord at an early age.  He was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Edward James Price. After many years of serving the lord, a teenage Edward became rebellious to the word and his relationship with the lord faltered. This is why Pastor Pickett considers himself a prodigal son.

 

In 1998 he accepted the Lord back into his heart and began his first work all over again at the New Dimension Deliverance Center under the leadership of Apostle Russell Obee.  In 2001 he accepted his call to minister under the leadership of Bishop Deloris Obee, where he served faithfully for 12 years. In this ministry he was licensed to preach, teach, and baptize many by the grace and mercy of God. While at New Dimension Deliverance Ministries he met his wife La'Von Howard and they were married July 9, 2011.

 

Pastor and Evangelist Pickett have a heart for the people, teaching them that they are somebody in Gods house and they too can be used by God. This is how their ministry was birthed in October 2013. Pastor Pickett was officially ordained and installed as Pastor of the New Living Word Ministries in January 2014 by The late Apostle Rosemary Cage-Williams. Pastor Pickett served as  Administrative Assistant to Apostle Williams for 4 years.

 

Within the first few years of the ministry, New Living Word Ministries has experienced several people being filled with the Holy Ghost, followed by mass 10 candidate baptism services that was truly an awesome move of God.  He believes that God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the ones he call. Pastor Pickett’s desire is to make disciples of men and encourage all to have a true relationship with God. He received his Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies from the F. I. S. T. School of Theology in June of 2017.  In June of 2019, "Pastor Pickett’s received his Masters Degree from the F.I.S.T. (Anchor Bible College) In 2021, Pastor Pickett, received his Doctorate Degree.

Pastor Pickett preaches the uncompromising gospel and is known for telling others the true and living word of God. This is why he declares that “I will bless the Lord at all Times, and his Praise shall continually be in my mouth”. Psalms 34:1​
